3 lbs. cooking apples
10 slices of bread, cubed (about 4 cups)
1/4-tsp. nutmeg
1/2-tsp. cinnamon
3/4-cup brown sugar
1/8-tsp. salt
1/2-cup butter or margarine, melted
For great apple brown Betty. Peel and core apples and cut into pieces. Arrange them in the bottom of the crock pot. In a medium size bowl mix together the remaining ingredients. Pour the bread mixture over the apples. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 4 hours.
Apple Brown Betty. Yield 6 to 8 servings.
